My background is in music, cinematography with specialization in script writing, and research. I have written and published widely in academic journals. My first novel was in the Italian language many years ago.

Three years before I retired from active teaching, I asked myself what I would do when I retire. The first thing that came to my mind was to write.

I have a large collection of folk tales. Thinking that writing stories is the same as writing academic paper, I started transcribing and sending my folk tales to publishers hoping that that could be the beginning of my writing career. Was I wrong? Those manuscripts flew back at me as fast as I sent them.

After serious mind searching, it dawned on me that if I wanted to write, I must learn to write, and so I registered into a writing school. For three years, I studied and graduated in writing. My book, Mirror of Our Lives: Voices of Four Igbo Women was the crowning glory of that writing education.
